Team Adobe set to represent Nigeria in South Africa after winning 2016 Unilever Nigeria’s Ideatrophy Competition

Friday August 26, 2016, was another great opportunity for Nigerian undergraduates to showcase unique creativity and great initiative during the grand finale of Unilever Nigeria’s annual IdeaTrophy Undergraduate National Business competition.

Now in its 5th edition, the boot camp for the competition opened in Lagos on the 23rd of August, where contestants were exposed to the wonderful world of Unilever, and were assigned mentors who are seasoned business professionals, to guide them in the development and delivery of their presentations. They also took part in personal development and team building sessions, and had the opportunity to meet and interact with Unilever top executives. It wasn’t all work, as the contestants also enjoyed fun activities like talent shows, aerobics and games.

Out of thousands of entries from various Nigerian universities in this year’s edition, six teams made it to the grand finale. The teams were tasked with the responsibility of developing creative ideas to market Unilever’s leading brand, Close Up.

After a keenly contested competition, Team Adobe from University of Ibadan was crowned winner of the 2016 Unilever Nigeria Ideatrophy competition. The winning team couldn’t contain their joy as the announcement was made. Each member of the team was presented with an Iphone 6s, while the team will also represent Nigeria at the Africa rounds in South Africa, and then proceed to next year’s Unilever Global Future Leader’s League competition in the United Kingdom.
